What is the Aging Workforce?

The aging workforce is the growing trend of multiple generations working side-by-side at work. Currently there are five age groups: Silent, Baby Boomers, Generational X, Millennials and Generation Y.

The aging workforce brings with it new opportunities for multigenerational productivity and engagement, and new challenges as workers aged 50+ become an increasingly larger share of the talent pool. 

Many organizations lack an age transition plan; one that anticipates an increase in older workers who need and want to remain employed, customized adaptations for an age-diverse workforce, and development of a work culture that fosters lifespan employment.
